My Podcasting Adventure

When I started this podcasting adventure and thought a couple months ago, I had no idea where it was going to go. It sounded interesting and I had begun listening to podcasts with the last couple years, so I thought that I would just go for it and see what happens. I did what I do with a lot of things I have no idea about, I googled it. I found this incredible website calle www.buzzsprout.com that became a gamechanger for me. It was exactly what I needed. A bunch of 10 minuteish long videos about how to start a podcast. No BS. Just the information and the best practices to use and the worst practices to avoid.

I bought all the gear, set up my studio, came up with a name, got the support and/backing of my wife and let it fly. That is how we got to today. I have done a “soft launch” to my friends and family. I am preparing to make the “official” launch on July 29. I put it up on Spotify and a few other sites today, just to get it out there. Honestly, seeing your podcast go from non-existant to listed on Spotify almost immediately, was pretty sweet.

If you have a topic that you are passionate about and a little bit of time to invest, you can do this too. EVERY single obstacle you can think of would stop you from doing. I don’t have the time, it’s too expensive, what will I talk about? Forget all of it. Just get it together and do it. It’s a blast and I can’t wait to see what the future will bring!
